Dear East County Softball Families -

We hope that all of you are well and staying safe.  After several board meetings, discussions with both the Cajon Valley School District and the County of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department regarding our field use, and much feedback from parents, it saddens me to announce that we are unable to complete our 2020 Spring Season.

We will be issuing partial refunds, and you should be receiving those within the next week. We are unable to refund for expenses already incurred, and are non-refundable to the league. These items include umpire fees for games played, light fees, field maintenance, USA Softball registrations, insurance, balls, jerseys, etc. If you paid through our website your refund will be credited through the website using the credit card used at time of registration. If you paid via check or cash, our treasurer will be mailing you a check. Some families have expressed an interest in NOT receiving a refund, and instead asking that the league keep it as a donation. If you would like to do that, please email our treasurer, and let her know. THANK YOU, that would be amazing!

If you purchased tickets to the Padre game, that will be refunded in FULL this week. If you paid through our website, it will be refunded through the website using the same credit card. If you paid via cash or check, our treasurer will be mailing you a check.

Allstars is not cancelled at this time. If/when we are able to return to play this summer, we will reach out to ALL registered girls in divisions 8U-14U.

We wish we had better news, but unfortunately without knowing if/when we will have use of our fields, and the concerns many parents have of returning too soon, we feel that ending our 2020 Spring Season is our only option at this point. Thank you all for patience during this time of uncertainty.

Update Regarding 2020 Select Allstars

East County Families -

I have a meeting regarding youth sports return to play tomorrow afternoon with County Supervisor Kristin Gaspar and an announcement will be made soon. However, not in time for our fields this weekend.

The player agent, president, and the coaches will move forward with picking teams this weekend. If your daughter has been selected on a team she will receive a star on her front door Monday morning.  Any questions please contact our player agent at Thank you!

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update, March 13, 2020

USA Softball of Southern California understands that league representatives have many questions on how the coronavirus (COVID-19) announcements nationally and locally may affect their season, participants and community. Based on the current situation and local updates in Southern California, we recommend that leagues implement a temporary suspension of all league activities.

While each community is being affected differently by the coronavirus, if your league continues with current activities and events, USA Softball of SoCal strongly encourages you to seek the advice from your community municipalities, public health departments, and local school districts on how to proceed.

USA Softball of SoCal staff is exploring all options on how to proceed with the regular season and post season play. We appreciate your patience and flexibility allowing us the time to work through these details.

We are committed to supporting all our leagues, participants and softball family during this difficult time. We will be communicating with you on a consistent basis, providing updates as they come available. Please look for our official communication via email, on our website and on our social media.

We are advising all our leagues and families to follow the guidelines set by the World Health OrganizationCenters for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), your state’s public health department (click here for a listing of state public health departments), and other county and/or local authorities including precedents set by area school districts and government agencies.

East County Softball has been the home away from home to thousands of young girls over the past 30 years.  We are a recreational fastpitch softball league that consists of girls aged 4-16 who came to our fields, hit their first ball, fell in love with the game and never looked back.

Proof of this is in the returning players, now as parents and coaches with their own daughters coming back to the very fields they knew and loved.

East County Softball is a 'B' level league associated with USA Softball, the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States and a United States Olympic Committee (USOC) voting member. We have been in existence for over 30 years. Our players live in the surrounding areas of East County: Alpine, El Cajon, Descanso, Jamul, Lakeside, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, Pine Valley, Rancho San Diego, Santee & Spring Valley.

We are excited to welcome you to the East County Family too!

Youth sports are volunteer driven, and can not run without the many hours that our Board Members put in to making our girls here at East County Girls Softball have amazing seasons.  Please welcome our new Board Members for the 2020-2021 season. They will take office on August 1, 2020.
